Already working with Japan?

Sounds familiar?

Often, a small change in how you do business makes a huge difference. I once joined a company that faced a crisis with a major customer that was about to stop renewing the yearly software license. I applied two simple rules as soon as I joined the team: never promise what you can't deliver, and never let a meeting run past its time slot. They renewed.

  • Meeting after meeting, and nothing moves.
  • Endless questions and requests before a single order.
  • A minor issue treated like a major crisis.
  • Your contact moved on, and the deal went quiet.
Hands-on, not hands-off

I don't just advise. I stay at the table.

For CEOs and sales leaders taking their company to Japan, or already there and wanting more from it.

01

At the table with you

Online, in Israel or in Japan.

Before: I prepare your team - who decides, what to say, what to avoid.
During: I'm there, reading what isn't said.
After: a debrief on what they really meant, and the next move.

Scoped to your goals and budget: a focused project or ongoing support.

02

Japan check-up

Already selling in Japan, but it's not moving? I review your partnerships, customer relationships and deals in progress, join you in meetings with your Japanese partners, and show you where things break down and how to fix them.

03

Japan readiness check

A straight answer: go now, go later, or build success stories elsewhere first. You get a written assessment of the gaps and your outlook for the short, medium and long term. If the answer is go, I stay with you to make it happen.

04

Partner search

Define the right partner profile, build the target list, reach out in Japanese, and prepare the first meeting.

05

Ongoing business development

Hands-on representation in Japan while you build your own presence - follow-ups, relationships, next deals.

How we work together

Step 1
Intro call

Where you stand in Japan today, your goals, and what's in the way.

Step 2
Assessment

Fit, competition, partners and customers, and the gaps to close.

Step 3
Plan & first meetings

A go-to-market plan and first approaches, or a reset with the partners and customers you already have.

Step 4
Follow-through

At the table in every key meeting, and follow-up until there is a signed deal. Continued support as needed.

Izi Amado
About

Izi Amado

I've spent my career selling Israeli technology in Japan and across Asia-Pacific - at RAD Data Communications, Microsoft Israel, Visonic, Mul-T-Lock, Vayyar Imaging and MARS Antennas. Along the way I've owned OEM relationships with Japanese organizations, developed and managed distribution partnerships, and brought in major Japanese corporate accounts.

Today I advise SIBAT (Israel Ministry of Defense) on Japan: connecting Israeli companies with Japanese government and commercial bodies, leading cross-cultural training and business development initiatives, and hosting Japanese delegation visits to Israeli defense companies.

I studied in Japan on a Japanese Government (Monbusho) scholarship and hold an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering with honors from the Tokyo University of Science. I work in Hebrew, English and Japanese.
